Dependence

In the game of life, trading, markets, and entrepreneurship, dependence is not a virtue. It is a cancer. It destroys your creativity, focus, discipline, consistency, motivation and drive.

Dependence means one of two things to me. Dependence from the addiction point of view; and dependence from the perspective of dependence on something external.

Addictions make you weak. Addictions make you a completely worse version of yourself. It destroys your life slowly and makes you a shell of your former self.

Dependence on others or external factors take away your power and make you overall weak, frail, and docile, which destroys your confidence and overall zest for life.

The combination of both of these forms of dependence both serve to destroy you and make you a much weaker version of yourself.
